There are three types of cannabis plants known as: Sativa, Indica and Ruderalis
Sativa, Indica and Ruderalis
This subspecies characteristics are visually different from each other:
- Indica dominant strains are short plants with broad, dark green leaves and have higher cannabidiol content than the
- Sativa dominant strains are taller plants in which THC content is higher
- Ruderalis strains have a lower THC content and are not often grown for industrial or medicinal purposes
The Sativa Cannabis Plants
The Sativa strains usually have a lower THC content than indica strains are generally stimulating, uplifting, and are often classed as a “head” high. This strain is said to be good for the following conditions:

The Indica Cannabis Plants
The indica strains usually have a high THC content that Sativa strains and create a relaxed, sedative effect described as a “body” high. This strain is said to be good for the following conditions:
- Pain
- Muscle Relaxer
- Headaches
- Relief From Anxiety & Panic Attacks
The Ruderalis Cannabis Plants
Ruderalis strain of cannabis stands apart due to its growth characteristics and signature effects. Ruderalis, is a low-THC variety or subspecies. Ruderalis is the smallest of all cannabis types, it is a stocky little plant that has thick stems and broad leaves. It can survive and thrive in harsh environments, such as those that have been disturbed by development or natural disasters.
